Who am I? My name is Ingrid Foster and I write fiction and poetry. I am writing this blog to get my feet wet and hopefully get noticed by the publishing powers that be.
My husband and I are based in Queensland, Australia and Tucson, Arizona. When I’m not writing, my favorite activities are spending time with my family, reading, traveling and experiencing new things.
I am currently enrolled in Long Ridge Writers Group and have a Bachelor of Science in an unrelated field.

You were right, mostly. I’ve visited before but hadn’t commented! Shame on me! I knew you were in AZ, but did not know about the Australia part! Funny, I was just thinking about Queensland yesterday, and how much I’d like to visit there someday!
Hello Ingrid,
I have bestowed upon you the Creative Writer award. It’s a bit on the silly and fun side. You can read about it on my site: http://eviealextheobsessivewriter.blogspot.com/2010/05/creative-writer-blogger-award.html
I’m also hosting a give away if you care to join in.
Have a great day.

Thanks Evie!
Dear Ingrid,
I’ve been reading through your blog and so much of what you say resonates with me. I too love researching horror and in fact my first novel (American Monsters) is framed around academic theories of horror and gender. At the moment I’m researching for the sequel and having a ball watching new horror films, reading new horror theory and assessing where the genre is at right now.
I love the books you’ve been reading! The Excorcist is amazing, and what I recall is that it’s more a family drama than a horror story, unlike the movie which focuses on the possession of Regan. Rosemary’s Baby is also fantastic, but came with a great film version too. So scary!
We also have trauma in common. I was with a good friend when she was murdered and it was years and years before I was able to watch horror movies again. Finally a few years back I realised I was far along enough in my healing to try again, and while I will never fully be over the trauma, at least it isn’t controlling so many aspects of my life.
I am so happy to have connected with you through She Writes! Looking forward to reading more of your thoughts on life and horror.
All the best,
Sezin
Hi Sezin, Thanks for stopping by. I see we’re like spirits, very cool!

Ingrid
